Try a Sedona Restaurant in the Village of Oak Creek

Lesser Known Village has Great Restaurants in Sedona Too

After hiking around the famous Bell Rock vortex, we head for a Sedona restaurant in the Village of Oak Creek.

Set just a quick drive away from some of Sedona's most dramatic hiking trails, the unincorporated Sedona Village of Oak Creek has a variety of hotels, shops, and a good selection of eateries.

All can be easily found right along Highway 179, the major road that runs through the center of the area.

While the Village of Oak Creek may not jump to most Arizona travelers' minds, this scenic southern end of the greater Sedona area is definitely worth a visit, for both exploring and dining.

Here's our list of some of our favorite Village of Oak Creek restaurants in Sedona, listed alphabetically.

Blue Moon Cafe Sedona Restaurant

Blue Moon Café Sedona Restaurant
This casual, family friendly Sedona restaurant has a fun diner atmosphere and a menu of American favorites.

Stop in for affordably priced, hand-tossed New York style pizzas, charbroiled 1/3 lb. burgers, chicken sandwiches, Philly and sub sandwiches, salads, fried chicken or chicken-fried steak dinners.

They also have Italian sodas, old-fashioned malts and ice cream floats.

We've had tasty and filling breakfasts with fast and friendly service here.

Blue Moon Café serves its hearty breakfast dishes all day long, in case you have a hankering for omelets, pancakes, biscuits and gravy or huevos rancheros at 2:00 p.m.

Their outdoor patio is pet-friendly and has views of nearby Bell Rock. They'll even provide free bowls of water for your pet.

Open daily for breakfast, lunch & dinner. Take out available.

Address: 6101 Highway 179, Sedona AZ 86351 in Bell Rock Plaza next to Ace Hardware
Phone: 928-284-1831
Cost: $-$$

Cucina Rustica Italian Sedona restaurant

Cucina Rustica
This Sedona restaurant is set in the Tequa Marketplace next door to the Sedona Hilton.

It's the second eatery for the successful business partnership of Lisa Dahl and Andrea DiLuca, the owners and chefs whose eponymous first restaurant is in West Sedona.

Cucina Rustica's Old World style dining rooms evoke a rustic Mediterranean atmosphere with wrought iron chairs and chandeliers, antique wood doors, and a stone fountain.

A charming patio draped with wisteria and dotted with trees and brickwork is a perfect warm weather dining retreat.

Their menu features Mediterranean food with some dishes having a Southwestern twist.

Penne with grilled chicken and mushrooms in a chipotle cream sauce and Black Angus filet topped with a chipotle-gorgonzola cream sauce and served with roasted potatoes blend the ingredients of both cuisines.

You'll feel like you’ve been whisked away to Italy or the south of France with dishes like Arborio rice balls filled with mozzarella cheese and served with lemon caper aioli or seafood sautéed with Campari tomatoes, capers and fresh basil and served in a bouillabaisse style sauce over orzo riso pasta.

Vegetarian items include fettuccine with spring vegetables and pine nuts in a pesto cream sauce, grilled artichokes with a lemon pesto aioli, and eggplant layered with mozzarella cheese and basil and topped with marinara sauce.

For a sweet finish, there's nightly special desserts and after dinner drinks. Their wine list has earned them the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence three years running.

Cucina Rustica strives to use organic ingredients whenever possible and the chicken and pork are hormone-free.

Dinner served daily.

Address: 7000 Highway 179, NW, Suite 126A, Sedona AZ 86351
Phone: (928) 284-3010
Cost: $$$-$$$$

Marketplace Cafe Sedona Arizona restaurant

Marketplace Café

We'd driven by this Sedona Arizona restaurant several times without noticing it because it is hidden in the back of the Oak Creek Factory Outlets.

We recommend searching for it, however, because of its good food which includes a great mix of comfort food and healthy options.

The menu runs the gamut of salads, burgers, pasta, pizza, seafood, steak, and vegetarian items.

At lunch, you can choose from dishes such as the red rock Rueben topped with their own homemade Russian dressing or vegan Boca burgers. You can also get a few breakfast dishes too.

The dinner menu has some of the same starters, burgers, and pizzas as the lunch menu.

There are also entrées such as fresh fish of the day with your choice of sauce, steaks, baby back ribs, and the vegetarian felicitas garden variety - a medley of sautéed fresh seasonal garden vegetables, wild rice & black beans.

The owners of the Marketplace Café are veterans of working in Hollywood. To celebrate their interests, the interior has a Hollywood theme with photographs, paintings, and movie and television memorabilia on display.

One wall has a colorful three-panel painting depicting Hollywood's golden age of movies.

What makes Marketplace Café a little different from many other restaurants in Sedona is the variety of live entertainment.

There's something going on most nights such as live music, murder mystery dinners, wine tastings, and theme nights to name just a few.

We enjoyed our delicious grilled chicken wrap and apple walnut tuna salad sandwiches and the great sweet potato fries that came with them. We give this place two Oscars, one for good food and another for a fun atmosphere.

This Sedona restaurant has a small bar and patio dining is in front. Open for lunch & dinner daily.

Address: 6645 State Route 179, #C7, Sedona AZ 86351
Phone: 928-284-5478
Cost: $-$$$

Red Rock Cafe Sedona restaurant

Red Rock Café
Although set in a shopping center, this modest, locally owned Sedona restaurant is quite popular with the locals for its good American style food and friendly service.

The interior is bright, clean, and comfortable with a mural and the work of local artists and photographers on the walls. One wall has windows that give red rock views.

Breakfast favorites include veggie and cheese-stuffed omelets, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, blue corn huevos rancheros, a build-your-own breakfast burrito, and a variety of eggs Benedicts. Or try one of their 99 cent mimosas.

The lunch menu has burgers, a good selection of sandwiches, and a great mix of salads. Lunch favorites include the Greek turkey burger, veggie burger, and Southwest chicken fried steak.

The Red Rock Café is open for breakfast and lunch only. Breakfast is served all day. Take-out available. Reservations recommended for groups over 6.

Address: 100 Verde Valley School Road, Suite 107, Sedona, AZ 86351, next door to the Weber's IGA Grocery store.

Cost: $-$$$

Pricing Key (based on cost of entrées):
