After all, the red rocks are what Sedona is most famous for. Luckily, Sedona hotels and motels offer everything from basic rooms to luxury lodgings. And most of them have at least some rooms with red rock vistas. But there is one important thing to know about Sedona hotels. Because Sedona is a popular travel destination and the town is small, Sedona hotel rates can be higher than many other Arizona cities. So, what may seem like a simple cheap motel to the average traveler will probably have a higher rate than what you might normally expect to pay. While you will pay a little more for Sedona hotel rooms, the area's spectacular beauty is worth the extra cost. To help save some cash on your room, try to adjust your Sedona travel schedule and make your Sedona hotel reservations in the off-season. That's when Sedona accommodations will be less expensive. Sedona's "off-season" for hotel rates is winter, from about late November through January. Sedona makes a fantastic winter holiday vacation. Also, surprisingly, Sedona hotels are generally less expensive in summer too because of the heat. Check for the lower summer rates starting around early June. Visit in spring and fall and you'll pay high season Sedona room rates. There's a lot of Sedona AZ lodging to choose from, so we've put together a selected directory of Sedona hotels-motels grouped according to the Sedona area's two towns and three "districts":

Sedoan Rouge is a boutique Sedona AZ lodging with a contemporary look and strong Mediterranean and North African-design influences. Our room was comfortable and included a 32" LCD TV, a day bed, mini-fridge and spa bathrobes. Our only complaint about the room is about the shower, which is partially enclosed by glass and has no door. As a result, we had to lay towels down on the floor to keep the water from slowly flowing around the glass into the rest of the bathroom. Our first floor room had a small patio; though not private, it was open to a broad lawn area. We ate dinner at the hotel's Reds Restaurant and found it to be bland and expensive. The Coffee Pot Restaurant is a short walk away and is a nice, casual spot for a big, inexpensive breakfast. Don’t miss the Spa at Sedona Rouge. Its Zen atmosphere, excellent therapist, and relaxing amenities left me feeling content after my visit. Note: some rooms face the highway. Rooms in back will have some red rock views. Red Rock Views? Yes, some upper floor rooms have views as does the public sun deck.
While it is near scenic Boynton Canyon, the inn doesn't have the red rock views that you find at other Sedona hotels. Luxury suites have one or two bedrooms, private deck or patio and in-room whirlpool. The Inn features deluxe complimentary breakfast buffet, large outdoor pool and whirlpool and a fitness room. Red Rock Views? Limited. South of the "Y" Sedona AZ Lodging
But after visiting, we discovered that the rooms do not cost a "king's ransom" and the hotel is much nicer than its funky name suggests. The main hotel is built around a large landscaped courtyard with a spacious, heated pool. There are several types of rooms, simply furnished, with balconies or patios and some rooms are pet friendly. A new section of this hotel is behind the Comfort Inn next door. Hiking on Margs Draw trail is just steps away behind the hotel. The hotel's best feature is the fabulous and popular Elote Café. We can't say enough about Chef Jeff Smedstad creative take on true Mexican cuisine. The presentation is beautiful and the food delicious. This is real Mexican food, so expect spicy and hot. Note: The former Comfort Inn Sedona is now part of the King's Ransom Hotel. Red Rock Views? Yes. Village of Oak Creek - Sedona AZ Lodging
Wildflower is a small, 28 room inn set at the northern edge of the Village of Oak Creek. If you're looking for Sedona cheap hotels, this is one of the least expensive. Second floor rooms near this viewing deck have the best views. Red Rock Views? Some.
