Looking for the most upscale Arizona spring training experience? Then a game at Scottsdale Stadium is for you. Home to San Francisco Giants spring training for over 50 years, the stadium is conveniently located within walking distance of newly revitalized downtown Scottsdale.  | | Scottsdale is the home of Giants spring training every March | And as you might expect, Scottsdale Stadium is a reflection of the high end town that it's set in. On game day, the stadium fills with a "see and be seen" crowd and the atmosphere seems as much "happy hour" as baseball game. Over in the right field area, the Salty Senorita, a local Mexican Restaurant, has a large, covered party pavilion. If you want a more exclusive scene, there’s the Charro Lodge, adjacent to the Giants’ bullpen in right field, which has great views and catered food. For a more laid back experience, head over to the sloped lawn seating at centerfield. Here you’ll see sunbathers and families, spread out picnic style, and kids rolling down the hillside. The Dos Gringos Patio Bar is conveniently located just beyond the grass berm. Scottsdale Stadium itself is a modern ball park with clean lines, emerald green lawns and art-covered brick walls.  | | Neat brick work and spacious public areas make Scottsdale Stadium a visually pleasing site | Although built in 1992, the architects - who also created Camden Yards in Baltimore -added old fashioned touches including turn-of-the-century lamps and framed antique baseball gloves. First time seeing Giants spring training? No worries. One of the many volunteers decked out in powder blue shirts and white cowboy hats will help you find your seat and answer any questions. Post-game, you can walk over to downtown Scottsdale for dinner, nightclubbing or just a pleasant stroll, window-shopping past the many boutiques and art galleries. No matter what your style, Scottsdale Stadium offers a great Arizona Cactus League experience with its good seating, good concessions and great location. Scottsdale Stadium Seating
Scottsdale Stadium has some of the best seating of any Arizona spring training location. For one thing, the ball park has lots of shaded seating. Many of the seats behind home plate are shaded by a large overhang. Or you may prefer to sit over in the left field corner where the seating receives shade from a grove of mature tress.  | | Be sure to arrive early to see the pitchers and batters warm up during Giants spring training | The 2,000 outfield lawn seats, although in the sun, are very popular. So, if you want a seat here, you must arrive early. The Charro Lodge, which is sponsored by the community service organization the Scottsdale Charros, offers seats with great views by the Giants bullpen. For a $75-$100/person individual game pass, you’ll get entry into the Lodge where you can sip cocktails, nosh on catered food and socialize as well as a general admission ticket to the game. Private and corporate groups can purchase passes to the Charro Pavilion and Terrace ($100-$125/person/game) inside the Charro Lodge. This covered facility offers a premium experience with covered seating, beverage service, ballpark tickets and banner and access to all Lodge amenities. Part of the proceeds for the Charro Lodge and Pavilion support the non-profit Charros’ charitable mission which includes supporting charities including the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale, Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Scottsdale Little League. Note: Scottsdale Stadium is a popular spring training site and many games sell out quickly. Purchase your tickets well in advance.
Food and Drink at Scottsdale Stadium
If you want more than a hot dog and beer when you’re at a ball game, look no further than Scottsdale Stadium. This ball park has the greatest variety of food options of just about any Cactus League venue including fish tacos, wok-fired soba noodles, salads, vegetable platters and fresh fruit. Kids will love the cool dogs—hot dog-shaped cylinders of ice cream in bun-shaped cakes. The Salty Senorita Pavilion and the Dos Gringos Patio bar, along the first and third base lines, serves grilled foods. For traditional baseball food fans, there’s cheeseburgers, bratwurst and of course, plenty of beer.
Getting Autographs
Your best bet for autographs at Scottsdale Stadium is to hangout around the dugouts. Arriving early is gives you a greater likelihood of scoring an autograph.
Parking at Scottsdale Stadium
There is free parking at Scottsdale Stadium and at adjacent lots. These lots fill up quickly though, so you’ll need to arrive early to get a spot. You can also park at one of several free public parking structures near the stadium. They are located at: - Second Street and Drinkwater,
- Second Street and Brown,
- Third Street and Craftsman Court.
 | | The downtown trolley can take you to Scottsdale spring training games | There are also smaller parking lots throughout downtown Scottsdale. Make sure you read the parking lots’ signs—some have 3-hour time limits. As an alternative, you can catch the free Giants spring training shuttle, which runs throughout the month of March. The shuttle, part of the downtown Scottsdale trolley service, runs to the parking lots at the Loloma Transit Station, Fashion Square Mall (on Marshall Way on the east side of Nordstrom’s) and to the north side of the parking garage on Fifth Avenue. The shuttle service starts 90 minutes before each home game and runs every 10 minutes up until game time. Return service is available during the game and up to 30 minutes after the game.

Attractions Near Scottsdale Stadium
Scottsdale Stadium is so close to all the retail, dining and entertainment venues of Downtown Scottsdale that you can easily fit in an activity before or after a game.  | | The Scottsdale Waterfront encompasses the refurbished Arizona Canal and many shops and restaurants | Old Town Scottsdale, just a few blocks northwest of the stadium, is where the Old West style buildings and shops can be found. Here you can pick up a cowboy hat or bolo tie, search for Native American turquoise and silver jewelry or peruse Western art. Downtown Scottsdale has several shopping districts in addition to Old Town. So no matter if your interest is Native American art, contemporary art, Southwest souvenirs or couture clothing, there will be a store for you. There is also a sparkling new Scottsdale Waterfront, which is a nice spot for an evening stroll and has plenty of restaurants for alfresco dining. For a little pampering after a day in the sun, several downtown Scottsdale hotels have full service spas including the Hotel Valley Ho, the Mondrian and the W Scottsdale. To see some of the best of modern art and architecture, visit the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art.  | | The simple entrance to the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art | This museum is known for showcasing up-and-coming artists as well as contemporary masters. Works include bronze sculpture, photography, paintings and blown glass. Downtown Scottsdale is also filled with public art. Pick up a public art map at the Scottsdale visitor center (4343 N. Scottsdale Rd., Suite 170; 480-421-1004) and go art hopping. For more high energy activity, Downtown Scottsdale has several nightclubs that draws a vibrant crowd to the area after dark. If you didn’t find what you where looking for in downtown, you probably can find it at one of the many other Scottsdale shopping areas. Fashion Square Mall is one of the most popular. This huge multi-level, glass-topped mall has big anchor stores like Nordstrom and Macy’s as well as national chains and independent boutiques. There’s even an 8-screen movie theater.
Dining Near Scottsdale Stadium
Before or after the game at Scottsdale Stadium, you can grab a great meal in downtown Scottsdale.There is an amazing variety of restaurants in the area. For breakfast, we especially like The Orange Table (7373 East Scottsdale Mall, Suite 6; 480-424-6819).  | | It’s easy to spot The Sugar Bowl on Scottsdale Road | Hidden away on the Scottsdale Mall, this popular breakfast spot serves big platters of pancakes, omelets and French toast in an artsy, bohemian atmosphere. They serve lunch too. For kids and kids at heart, the Sugar Bowl (4005 North Scottsdale Road; 480-946-0051) is a great option. This old fashioned diner and ice cream parlor has been serving banana splits, malts, shakes and sandwiches since 1958. You can’t miss their bright pink building on Scottsdale Road. There are also a number of restaurants that are popular Scottsdale spring training fans’ hangouts including: - The Salty Senorita (3636 North Scottsdale Road; 480-946-7258): standard Mexican food with well-priced margaritas,
- Don and Charlie’s Steakhouse (7501 East Camelback Road; 480-990-0900): famous for its steaks, BBQ and walls lined with baseball memorabilia,
- Oregano’s Pizza Bistro (3622 North Scottsdale Road; 480-970-1860): family friendly with some of the best pizza in Scottsdale plus pasta, salads and sandwiches.
 | | The Salty Senorita is a popular watering hole with Scottsdale spring training fans | For a gourmet diner, we love Cowboy Ciao, which serves an eclectic mix of Mexican, Southwestern and Mediterranean cuisine in a setting that’s both humorous and sexy. Although reading the menu is sure to elicit chuckles, the food is seriously good. Or try the much acclaimed Los Sombreros (2534 N Scottsdale Rd; 480-994-1799), which brings authentic gourmet Mexican cuisine to Scottsdale in a casual atmosphere. If you want to dine along the new Scottsdale Waterfront, Olive and Ivy (7135 E Camelback Rd # 195; 480-751-2200) is a good choice. This is one of the Sam Fox Concepts restaurants that you can find around the Phoenix area and Tucson, and which includes the eateries Bloom, North and Wildflower among others.  | | Los Sombreros serves gourmet Mexican cuisine | Olive and Ivy has become quite popular for its good, reasonably-priced gourmet food and patio dining right along the new waterfront. The menu is heavily Mediterranean-influenced and appealing to most palates with dishes like bacon-wrapped medjoul dates, sea bass with puttanesca sauce, and braised short ribs with mascarpone polenta. Although some critics have scoffed at the accessible, mainstream menu, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The service, atmosphere, and meal were great. Word to the wise: dinner reservations are a must at this very large and very busy place. If you can’t get a reservation, Olive and Ivy also has a take-out market, with a few eat-in tables, right next door. The menu offers flatbread sandwiches, salads, soups, pastries and even breakfast.
