Scottsdale Stadium

Join the Party at SF Giants

And as you might expect, Scottsdale Stadium is a reflection of the high end town that it's set in.

On game day, the stadium fills with a "see and be seen" crowd and the atmosphere seems as much "happy hour" as baseball game.

Over in the right field area, the Salty Senorita, a local Mexican Restaurant, has a large, covered party pavilion.

If you want a more exclusive scene, there's the Charro Lodge, adjacent to the Giants' bullpen in right field, which has great views and catered food.

For a more laid back experience, head over to the sloped lawn seating at centerfield.

Here you'll see sunbathers and families, spread out picnic style, and kids rolling down the hillside.

The Dos Gringos Patio Bar is conveniently located just beyond the grass berm.

Scottsdale Stadium itself is a modern ballpark with clean lines, emerald green lawns and art-covered brick walls.

Scottsdale is the home of Giants spring training every March

Although built in 1992, the architects - who also created Camden Yards in Baltimore - added old-fashioned touches including turn-of-the-century lamps and framed antique baseball gloves.

First time seeing Giants spring training? No worries.

One of the many volunteers decked out in powder blue shirts and white cowboy hats will help you find your seat and answer any questions.

Post-game, you can walk over to downtown Scottsdale for dinner, night-clubbing or just a pleasant stroll, window-shopping past the many boutiques and art galleries.

No matter what your style, San Francisco Giants spring training offers a great Arizona Cactus League experience with its good seating, good concessions and great location.

Scottsdale Stadium Seating

Scottsdale Stadium has some of the best seating of any of the Arizona spring training ballparks.

For one thing, the ballpark has lots of shaded seating. Many of the seats behind home plate are shaded by a large overhang.

Or you may prefer to sit over in the left field corner where the seating receives shade from a grove of mature tress.

Seats on the infield offer great views of the action, even the very top row. The infield upper box is in the shade.

One thing to note about the bleacher seating: the seats are square to the field, not angled toward the infield. So, you will have to crane your neck a bit to watch the action with the pitcher and batter.

The 2,000 outfield lawn seats, although in the sun, are very popular. So, if you want a seat here, you must arrive quite early and bring your own blanket. expect see lots of groups, drinking and having a good time.

The Charro Lodge, which is sponsored by the community service organization the Scottsdale Charros, offers seats with great views by the Giants bullpen.

For a $75-$100/person individual Giants spring training game pass, you'll get entry into the Lodge where you can sip cocktails, nosh on catered food and socialize as well as a general admission ticket to the game.

Private and corporate groups can purchase passes to the Charro Pavilion and Terrace ($100-$125/person/game) inside the Charro Lodge.

This premium facility offers a premium experience with covered seating, beverage service, ballpark tickets and banner, and access to all Lodge amenities.

Part of the proceeds for the Charro Lodge and Pavilion support the non-profit Charros' charitable mission which includes supporting charities including the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale, Phoenix Children's Hospital and Scottsdale Little League.

Note: Scottsdale Stadium is a popular spring training site and many games sell out quickly. Purchase your tickets well in advance.

Food and Drink at Scottsdale Stadium

If you want more than a hot dog and beer when you're at a ball game, look no further than Scottsdale Stadium.

This ballpark has the greatest variety of food options of just about any Cactus League venue including fish tacos, wok-fired soba noodles, salads, vegetable platters and fresh fruit.

Kids will love the cool dogs — hot dog-shaped cylinders of ice cream in bun-shaped cakes.

The Salty Senorita Pavilion and the Dos Gringos Patio bar, along the first and third base lines, serves grilled foods.

For traditional baseball food fans, there's cheeseburgers, bratwurst and of course, plenty of beer.

Containers of food and/or beverages cannot be brought into the stadium except for sealed, plastic bottles of water.
