Peoria Arizona Sports Complex

Home of Mariners Spring Training and Padres Spring Training Gives Fans Plenty of Games and Fun

Peoria Arizona Sports Complex Overview

The Peoria Arizona Sports Complex has the distinction of being the first spring training site to host two Cactus League teams.

It is home to both the Seattle Mariners spring training and the San Diego Padres spring training.

The Peoria Arizona Sports Complex is a spacious baseball stadium

As a result there’s a baseball game here almost every day in March during Peoria AZ spring training.

The Peoria Sports Complex isn’t just a popular spring training site because of the large number of games played here, however.

It’s a fan favorite for its spacious layout with plenty of seating, good food concessions and lots of parking.

The facility sits on 145 acres and has 6½ major league-sized practice fields for each team, and indoor and outdoor batting cages and tunnels.

Plus, its right next door to an extensive retail area that offers a wide variety of restaurants, shops, movie theaters and even a spa.

And—perhaps best of all for fans—you can get quite close to the ball players at the practice areas.

Because it is so popular, Peoria Sports Complex tickets go fast for Saturday games.

Tip: If you are going to a game at Peoria, we recommend that you give yourself plenty of time to get there.

The stadium is not far off the Loop 101 freeway, so it is easy is get to.

However, the traffic on the 101 northbound starts to back up about 1 hour before the 1:05 game start.

After exiting the freeway, there will be stop and go traffic all along Bell Road and south down 83rd Avenue to the stadium.

Peoria spring training fans will find diverse food concessions compared to many other stadiums.

Items such as tacos, pizza, Indian fry bread and chick kabobs offer a little something for just about everyone.

For dessert, you may be tempted by the deep-fried Twinkies. But, it’s probably better to skip those and head to the Shishkaberries stand instead.

Their strawberry and banana fruit skewers dipped in chocolate are a specialty of Seattle’s Safeco Park. The Peoria Arizona Sports Complex is the only Phoenix area spring training stadium that sells them.

Getting Autographs

Besides avoiding traffic backups, getting autographs is another reason to get to the Peoria Arizona Sports Complex early.

Arrive about one hour before game time with your baseball souvenir and a pen and wait by the dugouts or anywhere along the wall. The practice fields next to the stadium open at 9:00 am, if you want to try your luck there.

Parking at Peoria Sports Complex

There is plenty of parking at the Peoria Arizona Sports Complex. The cost is $5 per vehicle. For oversized vehicles and RVs, the cost is $10.
