From Northern New Mexico, you can take Interstate 40 (I-40) from Gallup into northern Arizona. Continue on I-40 to Flagstaff, Arizona. From this point, you must turn south on Interstate 17 to reach Phoenix. If you’re driving from Southern New Mexico, you can take Interstate 10 (I-10) from the Lordsburg / Las Cruces area and drive west to Tucson, Arizona.
