Maryvale Park

You Can Always Catch a Game at Milwaukee Brewers Spring Training

Maryvale Park Overview

If you're having trouble getting tickets to see your favorite Cactus League team, Maryvale Park is the place to go.

Home to the Brewers spring training, you're almost guaranteed to get a spring training ticket to watch your favorite team play against Milwaukee.

Maryvale Baseball Park Phoenix
Spacious Maryvale Park

Why? Because Maryvale Baseball Park is set in an economically-challenged, southwest Phoenix neighborhood.

Plus, it doesn't have all the surrounding amenities of the newer spring training stadiums.

In spite of that, Maryvale Park is a fan-friendly, relaxed baseball stadium on 56 acres, with 8,000 seats including lawn seating, plenty of parking, easy access and adjacent practice fields.

The stadium's spacious, airy design has earned it many architectural awards.

It has a recessed playing field and a shaded concourse that has an uninterrupted view of the game.

Don't miss the sausage races, where sausage-costumed mascots – including Polish Sausage, Bratwurst and Chorizo – race down the field between innings.

Maryvale Baseball Park Seating

Maryvale Park has plenty of space with 7,000 seats. The grassy outfield berm holds an additional 1,000 fans.

If you want to sit in the shade, get a seat in the upper rows behind home plate, by the press box and its large awning.

Maryvale is generally not crowded, so you can usually get the seat you want.

Maryvale Park Food and Drink

The Brewers are from Milwaukee so as you might guess, the main brew is Miller’s.

But that is not the only Milwaukee touch at Maryvale.

The Brewer’s sell there own tangy special secret sauce—a condiment that fans say goes great on just about anything.

Besides the standard ball park fare like hot dogs and bratwurst, the concessions also offer bean and cheese burritos, fruit cups and freshly-made kettle corn.

Getting Autographs

To get a Brewers’ autograph, hang out around the gate by the Brewers’ clubhouse at the right field line.

Parking at Maryvale Baseball Park

The lots are large and spaces cost $6 per vehicle the day of the game.

You can also purchase advanced parking for $5 per space along with your game ticket 7 days prior to the game online and by phone.

You can also purchase advance tickets in person at the mAryvale box office up until the day of the game.

Access to Maryvale Park is quick and easy from Interstate 10, where you will take the 51st Avenue exit.

Enter the stadium parking lot on 51st Avenue between Thomas Road and Indian School Road.

Downtown has been getting a major facelift the past few years, with new hotels, restaurants, businesses and condominiums.

The downtown Phoenix area has several fun and interesting attractions include:

  • The Arizona Mineral and Mining Museum (1502 W. Washington St.; 602-771-1600) exhibits an eye-popping collection of over 3,000 colorful gems and minerals, fossils, meteors and mining artifacts from Arizona and around the world.

On the edge of downtown Phoenix is the world renowned Heard Museum, one of the best Phoenix attractions.

This is the place to see beautiful American Indian arts and crafts and to learn about Arizona’s 22 Indian nations.

Thought-provoking and visually stunning exhibits open a door to the history and culture of Native Americans.

Dining Near Maryvale Park

Maryvale Park has a couple of good Mexican restaurants not too far away.

Macayo’s Mexican Kitchen (7829 W. Thomas Rd.; 623-873-0313) started as a family-owned operation and expanded to a chain of Mexican restaurants around Arizona and Nevada.

For 60 years, they've been serving up large platters of chimichangas, tacos and fajitas and specialty margaritas.

Garcia’s Las Avenidas (2212 N. 35th Ave.; 602-272-5584) was also a family-owned operation that's expanded to include many restaurants. Though the family no longer owns the chain, they still own this restaurant.

It has a festive hacienda atmosphere, serves classic Sonoran Mexican food and even has live Mariachi music.

Alice Coopers'town Phoenix AZ
Sports and rock memorabilia cover the tables and walls at Alice Coopers’town

The spacious restaurant has plenty of room for baseball fans and some of the best enchiladas in Phoenix.

For a fun atmosphere that mixes good food, sports and rock and roll, head to Alice Coopers’town in downtown Phoenix.

This sports bar and grill is owned by Alice Cooper, the rocker known for his kohl-black eye makeup and shock rock stage shows.

In spite of his scary countenance, Alice Cooper is a good guy who does a lot for local kids and serves up a great meal at his restaurant.

Stop in for burgers, barbeque platters, salads, tacos and even veggie sandwiches. Plus there’s plenty of beer, wine and cocktails.

You won't get bored during your meal because there are 16 big screen TVs tuned in to a variety of sports events and Alice Cooper memorabilia on every wall and table.

Pizzeria Bianco Phoenix
Diners waiting at 3:30 pm in 111°F heat for Pizzeria Bianco to open at 5:00 pm

Another good and popular downtown Phoenix restaurant is Pizzeria Bianco.

Chef Chris Bianco has been hailed by foodies everywhere for making some of the best pizzas this side of Italy.

His small restaurant, located in a historic building in Heritage square, doesn't open until 5 pm.

But that doesn't stop eager diners from starting to line up 2 to 3 hours in advance to feast on the small but carefully crafted selection of thin crust, wood-fired pies.
