Glendale AZ Hotel

The spacious suites include the "Cloud Nine" Hampton bed experience, sofa bed, flat screen TV plus a kitchen with mini-refrigerator, microwave and sink.

All guests receive a free hot breakfast that includes eggs, biscuits and sausage.

The 11-floor hotel has a modern, luxurious look with its bright red, gold and orange colors that are meant to resemble an Arizona sunset.

The 320 guest rooms, including 33 suites, are all equipped with state-of-the-art connectivity and high definition TV. We found the rooms to be spacious and comfortable.

All of this is across West Glendale Street in an area referred to as the Zanjero District.

These Glendale hotels promote themselves as being within walking distance of Westgate City Center and, technically, they are across the street.

But before you walk over from your room, consider that they are actually about one half-mile from Westgate.

Rooms have a microwave, coffee maker and mini-refrigerator.

Features include free buffet breakfast and free high speed internet. All rooms are non-smoking.

Other features are free breakfast buffet, BridgeMart convenience store and free wireless internet.

Managed by Intercontinental Hotels, which also owns Holiday Inn Express.

For White Sox and Dodgers spring training fans, the Comfort Suites is currently the only Glendale AZ hotel right near Glendale Stadium-Camelback Ranch.

This hotel is located right next to the Camelback Road exit on the west side of the Loop 101 Freeway and is 1.5 miles from Camelback Ranch and about 2 miles from the Westgate Center.

• While Glendale is not as big as its next door neighbor, Phoenix, it is large. In fact, Glendale is Arizona's 4th largest city.

  The city, however, is in the shape of a long north-to-south rectangle. So, when you make a reservation at a Glendale AZ hotel, you'll need to put a little thought into where you need to be to help cut down on driving time.

• If you plan to stay in Glendale during a major event like baseball spring training, you need to book your room well in advance. That’s because hotels in Glendale Arizona near Westgate City Center will fill up quickly.
• Glendale AZ hotel occupancy tax is 12.0007%.
• If you don't want to drive around town, there is a free "Glendale Express" 16 passenger shuttle bus that travels in a 50 minute loop to Historic Downtown Glendale, the Zanjero District hotels, the University of Phoenix Stadium and Westgate City Center.
