More famously, the stadium was host to the 2008 Super Bowl XLII. From a distance, the stadium looks like a giant silver UFO. Designed by architect Peter Eisenman, it’s meant to resemble a barrel cactus. This is the first stadium in the U.S. to have both a retractable roof and a roll-out natural grass field.
