Diablo Stadium Tempe

Los Angeles Angels Spring Training is a Devilishly Good Time

Tempe Diablo Stadium is centrally located in the Phoenix Valley and is only a ten minute drive from Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport.

It's also quickly and easily reached by a just few blocks drive off of Interstate 10.

Diablo Stadium is a nice place to take in a baseball game with its comfortable, spacious layout and picturesque views of the mountain it sits below.

Plus, Tempe Stadium is said to have the best hot dogs in the Cactus League.

Although first used for spring training in 1969, the park has undergone several renovations, with the most recent in 2005.

Improvements included new state of the art seating, a new sound system and expanded practice fields.

Regular season Los Angeles Angels tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com.

Tempe Diablo Stadium Seating

Diablo Stadium has 9,315 seats total including seating for the disabled, suites and temporary bleachers.

The lawn area is in left field and seats 2,500. This is unreserved open seating.

All of the 7,285 stadium seats have backs and there’s even a picnic area with umbrella-topped tables on the left side outfield. You’ll need to get to the stadium plenty early in order to get one of these coveted spots.

There isn’t a lot of shade at Diablo Tempe Stadium. So, be sure to wear a hat, sunscreen and sunglasses here.

The spots that generally get shade are the last few rows of the stadium plus roughly the seven or eight rows behind home plate.

Diablo Stadium Tempe Food and Drink

Cactus League fans rated Tempe Diablo Stadium as having the best hot dogs of all of the Arizona Spring Training stadiums.

Other than hot dogs, there is pretty much the basic ballpark fare of hamburgers, peanuts and beer.

There are lots of concessions though, so you shouldn’t have to wait too long to get your food.

Getting Autographs

Tempe Diablo Stadium is one of the harder Cactus League ballparks to get an autograph.

However, there are two spots that are good. So, plan to get to the ballpark early while the players are still warming up and wait around down by the first and third base lines. The players may take a break and come over to sign your stuff.

The Angels dugout is on the right field side.

Parking at Diablo Stadium Tempe

Parking is $5 a vehicle. There are two parking lots, east and west, with 1,350 parking spaces.

Tempe Stadium’s parking lots fill up quickly. Fans may have to park in the lots of the adjacent business complex or even on city streets.

As you might expect, it can take awhile to find a space and to walk to you the stadium, so give yourself extra time.
